Choose Well - Math Nutrition Kit
Environmental, Grades: 4 and 5

Through a series of seven activities, children learn the importance of choosing nutrient-rich foods first and techniques for visualizing appropriate portion sizes. The eighth lesson addresses physical activity and it's relation to weight management. Choose well includes a Telly award-winning video and a copy of Appetite Attack, an action-packed computer game from the Parents' Choice 2006 Approved Award-Winning Web site, www.zip4tweens.com. Food Safety, Grades: 2, 3, and 4

This poster explains the food journey, as well as safety measures, from the farm to the plate. Instructions for proper food handling and hand washing are described along with a variety of six activities and worksheets printed on the reverse.

Consumer Sciences, Grades: 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12

Designed for family and consumer science classes, this colorful booklet covers all aspects of buying, storing, preparing, and serving beef. A number of word games and puzzles are included throughout the booklet to create student interest, reinforce learning, and serve as a means for review.

A colorful poster-teaching unit designed to help students understand how to better conserve precious resources. Cattle and earthworms were chosen because of the unique capabilities that allow them to utilize resources efficiently.

CATTLE ROUNDUP
Social Studies, Grades: 4

This kit focuses on the history of the Arizona Cattle industry. It includes black line masters to be copied for student use. Contents include tools of ranching, counties of Arizona, by-products of cattle, how cattle affect the environment, and how cattle are recyclers of the land. The activities are great when learning about the 5 C's of Arizona.

FUELED FOR FLIGHT
Math/Science, Grades: 5 and 6

This kit teaches math and science skills using the space shuttle as the theme. It relates these skills to students' everyday lives by using analogies for nutrition and exercise between key concepts. It contains five "missions" and a science project at the end of the program.
